Getting ready for more World Class diving

Eagle ray swimming along the reef in Banda
Eagle ray swimming along the reef in Banda

While we're still enjoying the summer, we're already looking forward to the next diving season. Bluemotion will be back in business in Banda on the 3rd of August. That's less than a month from now! We have updated the "GETTING TO BANDA" section with the Pelni ships schedule for the end of July and beginning of August, although it's worth checking their website ( for possible changes/updates. Unfortunately, we have no news about the NBA flights yet -hopefully they will start soon after August. We will post it here as soon as we know anything, although at least this year the delay in the start of the service should not be much of a problem now that we have a Pelni ship going to and from Ambon roughly every week (yay!).

Last August and September were again quite good -big schools of Devil rays, plenty of Eagle rays and even a couple of unexpected Thresher sharks-, so we're starting to suspect that could be a pattern for some sort of a rays season, and hoping we will have as many -or even more!- sightings this year. The beginning of the season also proved to be very good for small creatures, but that's no news in Banda lately :)

All in all, it's going to be an exciting start of the season, with the whole of Bluemotion staff full of enthusiasm and craving for some amazing dives after the summer break, and we're hoping we can share it with all of you who would like to visit these beautiful islands soon.

Have a great summer!

Oct 9th, 2016: Old laptops needed for children's computer lab on Banda

We have supported the re-opening of a computer lab on Banda. The lab was setup more than a year ago supported by a social fund but had to close a few months ago as the operational costs couldn't be covered. It was now revived thanks to our volunteer teacher Masha. Children come there every afternoon to learn about computers, Mathematics and English. The interest and feedback has been very positive but, unfortunately, only 3 computers are functioning and available for more than 30 children. If you are going to visit us for diving and have an old laptop you don't need anymore, we would be very thankful if you could donate it to the lab.
